Seek Him

Seek him that maketh the seven stars and Orion, and turneth the shadow of death into the morning, and maketh the day dark with night: that calleth for the waters of the sea, and poureth them out upon the face of the earth: The Lord is his name. -Amos 5:8 The world has so many things to offer. Name it and it is all there. Easy to find and always available. But I’ve asked myself so many times, “Is this all that life brings?” It is a paradox that despite the comfort of this age, discontent is constant. Despite the fulfillment that work, fun, and relationships bring, there is still that longing nothing else can fill. How wondrous it is that at times like these, there is only one direction that I am led to. That when I look up or down or within myself, I am led to stand in awe of how I was made to do. The question of why we exist and why there is this longing is inescapable. We need to face the reality that it is only God who satisfies. When discontent strikes, it hazes out minds. We try to look at things around to fill us. We need to go back from where everything started. Everything starts in Him and finds purpose in Him. It is when we live according to His will that we are fully satisfied. When things of this world blur what we ought to look at, there is no one else who gives clear perspective. There is no one else who sets the sail. There is no one else who satisfies. There is no else we should seek...our Creator. Seek Him today. He longs for you too. 🙂
